Las Vegas: ‘We Look Forward to Welcoming the SHOT Show Family in January’
The July cancellation of CES has some people questioning whether SHOT Show can and will move forward. We can and will move forward by working with all of our show partners to put into place the best practices that we have collectively gathered. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) is one of those partners, and LVCVA CEO Steve Hill recently sent me this letter pledging his organization’s commitment to helping us host a safe and productive show in January. We genuinely appreciate LVCVA’s support.

LWRCI Talks SHOT Show and Its Upcoming Move to Caesars Forum
With the expansion to the new Caesars Forum, 2021 will be largest SHOT Show in history. LWRCI was one of the first companies signing on to exhibit in the new facility. Writer Kevin Tate recently spoke with David Golladay, LWRCI’s director of marketing, who has been managing the messaging of brands in our industry for the better part of three decades. In 2021, he’ll celebrate the attendance of his 30th SHOT Show. It’s a great read, and you can find it here. — Bill Dunn, NSSF

Sands, Venetian Offer Glimpse at Enhanced Safety Measures for Food and Beverage Service
The Venetian Resort and Sands Expo recently presented a review of food and beverage setups and how they would be operating under the state’s current guidelines. Above are some sample photos from the recent presentation. At the current time, all food and beverage items will be displayed and served by an attendant. This will also include coffee stations. All attendant-served buffets, bars and coffee break stations are installed with clear acrylic plexiglass shields.

Hand-sanitizing units are set outside each entrance door for all food and beverage locations. Hand-washing stations are set behind buffets for the service attendants, which you can see in the photo on the left. All social distancing will be followed based on Nevada’s guidelines at that time. This showcases just one of the many new protocols to welcome back guests in a safe manner.
